Where is Mozambique located?
Mozambique is located southeast of Africa, bordering South Africa and Swaziland to the south, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia to the north, Zimbabwe to the west and lastly the Indian Ocean to the east.
What is the climate like?
Mozambique has a tropical climate with two seasons, the wet and hot season from October to March, and the dry and cooler season from April to September. The temperature in Mozambique whether the hot or cold season, its relativity high temperatures ranging between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius.
What is the local currency do they use?
In Mozambique the official currency is the Metical (MT) which is divided into 100 Centavos.
Many of the resorts and hotels accept American Dollars ($) and South African Rands (R), and if needed you can exchange currency in the banks and exchange houses.

Is it safe destination?
Mozambique is a safe destination for travellers, but as in most destinations you are advised that you keep a look out for your belongings Ð normal precautions should be taken. Try avoiding walking alone in the evenings and also avoid carrying expensive equipment around with you.

Mozambique has cell phone providers Mcel and Vodacom Ð giving Mozambique large network coverage throughout the country.
Is there internet connection available?
Internet access is available in Mozambique, but is limited to the major cities. However in most tourist destinations there is access to the internet at the resorts.
What is the public transport like?
Public transport is not recommended within Mozambique Ð however there are reliable buss shuttles to the north and international/local planes.
What power plugs are used in Mozambique?
In Mozambique we use the 2 point plug, also known as the Europlug.
Can I drink the tap water?
In Mozambique all town treat their drinking water, travellers are however advised to boil the tap water before drinking it, alternatively would be to buy mineral water. Tap water can safely be used for showering and brushing your teeth.
What health precautions should be taken to visit Mozambique?
If you are planning to travel to Mozambique, you are required to have had the yellow fever vaccine and also carry the vaccination certificate with you. Mozambique is also a malaria infected country Ð for preventions you must consult your doctor, otherwise make sure you travel with mosquito repellent and sleep under a mosquito net.
